Affordability: we strive for affordable housing costs for all tenants. Rent, service costs and energy costs must be jointly affordable for the tenants. Also for the minimum and the people just above the minimum.

Availability: we strive for sufficient homes in various price ranges for the various target groups: families, singles, the elderly, young people and people with disabilities.

Good living pleasure / liveability: the living pleasure of the tenants of De Kernen is promoted if:

there is a lot of space in the house; the houses are well maintained; the contact with the neighbors is pleasant / pleasant; there is good handling of individual complaints; there are sufficient green facilities and that are properly maintained; the houses are energy-efficient; there are sufficient there is parking; there are shops and other facilities in the area; there is good public transport; there is sufficient room for movement for the children; there is not too much to lug around with garbage; well-maintained benches with waste bins are available in the village centers to rest or have a chat; the sidewalks and streets are clean.

We have collected the above points in discussions with individual tenants and during the Day of Renting. They have become part of the performance agreements with the housing association and the municipalities. The coming years will show to what extent they will actually be taken to heart in policy and daily practice.

Living comfort: we strive for good living comfort. For new construction and renovation, we have drawn up a list of facilities that we believe should be present. We have offered this list to De Kernen and we are currently discussing this.

Safety: In addition to preventing burglary and fire, the prevention of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning is also very important. Because this cannot be smelled, it is sometimes referred to as the assassin - who annually causes dozens of deaths and many hundreds (seriously) injured. The chance of this can be reduced by proper maintenance of the boilers (a task of the landlord), by installing detectors (such as those available for reporting smoke and fire) and by good ventilation of the room in which the boilers are located. posted.

Sustainability: In recent years, the corporation has put a lot of effort into making many homes more energy efficient. Solar panels have been installed on many homes. Follow-up steps will be taken to make a demonstrable contribution to a sustainable home as a corporation.

Vulnerable groups: The corporation makes every effort to help status holders find a suitable home, also people with a physical and / or psychological disability receive special attention; also think of people with different forms of dementia. Tenants continue to live independently at home until they are older. This requires adjustments to the homes to make this possible. Living at home for longer is therefore the focus of De Kernen and the Residents' Council (for example, an opplus package for this large group of tenants).
